If you're reading this, you might be searching for something deeper—a different kind of healing, a more profound connection with yourself and the world around you.

I'm Heather Krimsly, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified EMDR Therapist. My work centers on helping people navigate the complex terrain of trauma—particularly complex trauma, PTSD, and the subtle forms of dissociation that keep us feeling disconnected from ourselves and our lives. Sometimes these challenges manifest as reactivity, difficulty creating and maintaining healthy relationships, wanting to finish something (e.g., a work project, a degree, etc.), but failing to take the steps necessary or taking care of ourselves (e.g., moving more, sticking to a sleep schedule, engaging in life-supporting activities, etc.).

I attended Portland State University and completed practica at Healthy Start and OSU's CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) program. After graduating in 2010, I spent the next several years as an intake specialist and therapist at The Children's Farm Home, a residential treatment facility for adolescents and teens. From there, I worked as a hospital social worker at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, and later as a Behavioral Health therapist at Calapooia Family Medicine and Geary Street Clinic in Albany. In 2019, I began my private practice and specialized in trauma work.

You Might Be Ready for This Work If...

You're not currently in crisis, and you have stable housing and finances. You've done some therapy or self-development work before—maybe you've tried meditation, journaling, positive self-talk, or established healthy routines. These tools have been helpful, yet something still feels incomplete. You sense there's a deeper level of healing waiting for you, a better connection with yourself, others, and the world that you haven't quite reached yet.

If this resonates with you, you're in the right place. My clients are people who are ready to move beyond talk therapy and surface-level coping strategies. They're ready to process, to feel, to transform at a deeper level. This isn't about quick fixes or band-aid solutions—it's about profound, lasting change.

My Approach

I specialize in working with complex trauma—the kind that doesn't always fit into neat categories, the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world. Together, we'll explore the subtle ways dissociation might be keeping you from feeling fully present in your own life.

This work is process-oriented, which means we go at your pace and follow what emerges. There's wisdom in your system, and my role is to create a safe, attuned space where deep healing can unfold naturally.

A Note About Specialized Care

If you're actively working with an eating disorder or substance abuse, I can work with you if you have a primary therapist who is addressing those specific issues. This ensures you receive the comprehensive, specialized care you deserve while we focus on the deeper trauma work.

If what I've shared here speaks to you, I invite you to reach out. We can explore whether we're a good fit and whether this approach to healing feels right for where you are in your journey.

I look forward to hearing from you.

With warmth,

Heather Krimsly, LCSW
